We have a new name!
Friends helping neighbors thrive.
In 2026, the organization rebranded as Friends of Bethlehem Seniors to more clearly reflect its mission and community role. Today, the board includes 11 volunteer positions, with most members serving three-year terms. The organization continues to focus on transportation support and services that help older adults age in place when they choose to.
History
Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc. was established on October 1, 1987, by Karen Pellettier and eight other founding directors.
The corporation was formed to obtain grants and seek contributions to accomplish the following goals:
To benefit and enable the elderly and poor of the community to remain as residents through additional services and programs.
To provide relief for the elderly residents of the Town of Bethlehem by providing additional
transportation means not available under normal means.
To provide a resource center to aid the elderly in seeking the information they need to maintain independent lifestyles.
At the time, Karen Pellettier was leading Bethlehem Senior Services and recognized this need firsthand.
Since its inception, a senior staff member from Bethlehem Senior Services has remained directly involved with Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc.
Over the years, Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc. has benefited from the service of many dedicated volunteer board members who have generously contributed their time, talents, and financial support.
